Not in the mood for a practice game? You can now minimize the waiting screen and keep using the app while the matchmaker looks for an opponent. While you wait you can:

Send messages and chat with friends or in the lobby.
Browse the rest of the app instead of being stuck on one screen.
Check the leaderboard to see where you stand.
Invite friends with a private code so you can play together.

The search keeps running in the background, and you get pulled into the game as soon as your opponent is ready. The waiting room is no longer a dead end.

Smoother, more reliable reconnections

We also chased down a frustrating connection bug. In some cases a network drop could leave the connection stuck, which meant the app couldn’t reconnect or couldn’t join a game waiting in the lobby — even when your internet was perfectly fine.

In 1.0.4 that stuck state is fixed. If your connection blips on the bus, in an elevator, or when Wi-Fi hands off to mobile data, the app recovers cleanly and gets you back to the board in seconds. Reliable reconnection matters most in the middle of a close game, and this update makes it far steadier.
